The Uganda 2,000 Shillings Banknote from 2021 depicts the countrys rich historical, natural, and cultural heritage. Its obverse side features a profile of a man wearing a Karimojong headdress, a purple-to-green OVI patch, the coat of arms of Uganda, the Nile river, and the Source of the Nile Monument in Njeru. Its reverse side features the countrys map, sun, talapia fish, the National Independence monument in Kampala, and a profile of a man wearing a Karimojong headdress. The note is 135 x 66 mm in size and is equipped with a Red-to-green windowed security thread with demetalized BOU II to enhance its security features. Placing the note under a UV light would show a watermark image of a Crested crane and electrotype 2000.
