The Uganda 1,000 Shilling banknote was issued by the Bank of Uganda in 2021. The obverse of the orange paper bill features a profile of a man wearing a Karimojong headdress, Nyero rock paintings found in Kumi, savannah grassland, the national emblem, and a purple-to-green Optically Variable Ink patch. The back of the paper bill depicts a profile of a man with a Karimojong headdress, a sun, the map of Uganda, antelopes, and the National Independence monument in Kampala. The banknote is 131 x 64 mm in size and carries a red-to-green windowed security thread with a demetalized BOU I. It also has a watermark that shows a crested crane, an electrotype 1000, and Cornerstones. This banknote is in uncirculated condition.
