Antique Sake Cup Handpainted Sakazuki Choko Saki Artist Signed Longevity
    DETAILS OF ITEM
This is an antique Japanese hand painted sake cup called a Choko, Sakazuki, Guinomi or Nozoki that measures a large 4.38 inches in diameter by 2 inches high.
It was entirely handpainted by the artist Kozan who signed his name to this cup. He decorated this cup with auspicious symbols such as the crane and turtle representing longevity and the Sho Chiku Bai or Pine tree, Bamboo, and Plum tree motif representing the three felicitious friends of winter.
Age of this cup is from the late Meiji to Taisho era (circa 1910-1920) and its condition is very good including the gold around the rim.
