    Description

This is an antique Japanese scalloped edge Satsuma kiln sake cup that measures 0.75 inches high by 2.25 inches in diameter. It has a design featuring beautiful stylized blooming Chrysanthemum flowers on both the interior and exterior of the cup. It was entirely handpainted and there is no loss to the scalloped gold rim. There is a cartouche at the base with the name of the kiln called "Shuzan" with the Satsuma mark above it (see photo).
Its condition is very good and its age is from the 1930's (Early Showa era in Japan).
