Description
Set of 4 japanese teacups and matching saucers.Hand painted in brown, light blue, yellow, orange, green and gold. Moriage decorated.
All the brown areas have a matte finish...some areas of the brown paint show scratches.
No chips or cracks.
I believe I was able to identify the top row characters of the backstamp read from right to left as Day Nippon which was used during the Meiji period 1868-1912 (references Gotheborg.com/20thcenturyjapan) ...but please do your own research for proper identification as I am not an expert in identifying japanese pottery marks.
Cup measures 2.75" in diameter across the top, 3.5" with the handle included, and 1.5" high.
Saucer measures 3.75" in diameter and .5" high.
