One of the largest four door sedans on the market at the time, the Monterey was built for comfort but also loading up six adults and gear and going on a road trip. They were a nice step up from the Ford LTD or Falcon and did its best to compete with the Cadillac and Lincoln lineup without the heavy price tag.
This is a very clean and great example of an original 1968 Mercury Monterey 4DR with under 36k miles since being built in the Buffalo plant. The car is quite impressive with original interior from carpet, seats, headliner, dash, gauges and switches. The exterior appears to be all original paint and sheet metal with amazing alignment and fitment. Vehicle was purchased from the second owners and has had tires recently replaced. Nicely optioned with; AM radio, map light, power steering, white wall tires, tow package and larger V8.
Load up your friends, pack several coolers in the trunk and pick a destination and arrive in style. These large four door sedans are a rarity in the market and one so nicely preserved with such originality is almost like finding a Unicorn in the wild. Wipers, radio, heat, lights, horn and even the cigarette lighter were all functioning properly during our inspection and test drive.
